HERITAGE AND LOCAL FLAVOR!

The members of the Board of Directors and their spouses traveled to Charcenne (70) for a guided tour of the Vignoble Guillaume (a supplier to the République du Saugeais) led by its director, Xavier Guillaume.

His family has been growing grapes in Charcenne and Gy since 1732… Mr. Guillaume gave a presentation on his profession, describing the different grape varieties in detail.

The estate now covers 45 hectares.

Since the late 19th century, the winery has expanded its operations to include vine grafting and a vine nursery. It is one of the world leaders in the vine stock market!

At the end of this visit, it is clear that the Republic of Saugeais and Le Vignoble Guillaume, despite their very different activities, share a reputation that extends beyond national borders, a strong interest in the terroir and regional identity, and deep local roots.
